June, 2005
Dear Friends and Family,
2nd Corinthians 9:12
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s
people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
The spaghetti dinner held on June 3rd, 2005, was such a success thanks to all who once again helped to make this day so special. Over 180 people were in attendance. Because of our most “excellent” food donations along with Melanie Troyer and Chris Koval running the kitchen, we felt like we were dining in a five star restaurant. Ricobene’s, Ed Schmit-Teddy Bear Nursery, Fleckenstein’s Bakery, aunt Loretta and cousin Traci, truly know how to satisfy our taste buds. Youth Pastor Harold Ebenroth, musicians from Parker Road Bible Church and Phantom Ranch Bible Camp, Matt Taylor, The Muffins, Solafide, cousin Erica, youth Pastor Bobby Moss and friends, made our celebration one to remember. You graciously came from near and far to share your musical gifts with us. Mike Wirtz kept our little ones busy with a moonwalk and popcorn. Bob Wirtz made sure our food arrived on time. Many of you helped us set-up, encouraged us, prayed, baked, baked a lot, kept an eye on the little ones, cooked the pasta, worked the kitchen, served the food, attended the parking lot, took the garbage out, and cleaned.
Thank you for investing in the lives of children!
It was our desire that enough money be raised to send young teens in need from inner-city to Phantom Ranch Bible Camp this summer. We knew of 16 teens that needed to go to camp. It was our prayer that during the fundraiser “Something from Jessie,” God would be glorified.
God is faithful!
We don’t know the exact number of teens that will attend camp as of yet, but we are estimating at least 30 will be able to go this summer. You were so generous with your monetary donations. We are privileged to have been able to work with you in this ministry.
Thank You!
You are allowing teens to experience a life-changing week this summer. Your support in this fundraiser has made a difference in many whose lives will not be the same. The teens who go will know that someone cares. You have invested not only in their future here on earth, but their eternal future as well.
2nd Corinthians 9:14
“And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you,
because of the surpassing grace God has given you.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!”
With Love and Gratitude,
The Friends and Family of
Jessica Lee Troyer
Here are just a few quotes from campers who attended
Urban Camp in summer of 2004:
"Thank you for giving me a chance to come to this great camp because it really changed my life..."
"...I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for donating money that not only helped me but everyone else here to come to this wonderful camp. I feel I have grown in Christ and am going to continue..."
"...I have learned God loves you no matter what the situation is. Throughout the ups and down He will hold your hand."
"...I've learned a lot of new things and I'm not leaving the same way. So thanks."
"...Because of your help, lives were changed forever. We will never forget this year. It is in our lives forever."
"...I have learned that God could use you in the midst of anything."
"...You really don't understand how effective and awesome your contributions were. I just thank God for people like you because there are very few..."
"...This has changed my life and showed me to be a woman of God..."
"...Phantom Ranch is raw, and has made me want to change to be a better person. I prayed that God would open up to me and that He would open my heart. He did do that!""
Jessica Troyer was 17 years old when she died from injuries as the result of a snowmobile accident in January, 2000. She is now in her eternal home in Paradise. Jessica was a camper and eventually on staff at Phantom Ranch Bible Camp. For Jessica, camp was a time of spiritual growth, friendships, and life changing decisions. Jessica also had a burden for youth less fortunate than herself.
It is therefore our desire to help send more inner-city teens to camp. In Jessie's memory, for God's Glory, we will help raise funds towards the goal of enabling inner-city teens to attend Urban Camp.
